This is the World Memory Championship
website.

Team Singapore 2010!

Zhang Shi Hang, a China memory expert at
10 years old! Interviewed by TVS. He is just one of the many children
who can memorise about a thousand numbers in an hour.

This is how a thousand random numbers
looks like. 25 rows of 40.

Representatives from India. They can memorise a few hundred numbers as
well.

Sight seeing with top
memory competitors from Sweden, Australia, Uzbekistan, China and
of course Singapore!

Here is the web link where you can
double your memory for free online. www.memolife.com
Personally, I found the online learning
at www.memolife.com convenient as I could log into the website in my
own free time. (Which
was usually at night after work.) Initially it was tough as I was doing
it alone. It became easier as I began to make friends with fellow
Singaporean memory competitors and we began to meet up regularly to
train for the competition. Therefore I also recommend getting into
groups or
at least pairs for training. The benefits for me are gradual but
astonishing. Apart
from having better concentration span, I realise I can remember and
recall information much faster. It felt great when I
realise I could (if I really wanted to and have the time to) memorise
close to 1000 numbers in an hour. Most importantly, the potential for
application to studies is enormous. I wished I had learnt this when I
was in school.
Benefits
include
- an IMMENSE amount of self confidence after being able to
complete the memory feat in a give time
- improvement in concentration span
- razor sharp focus
- renewed sense of achievement
- positive self esteem
- less stress as you will be able to manage more school work
